Ha, you tool weirdo! 🤣 My OH has absolutely zero interest in my tool box so I think I'm safe on that score... I do have to moan at her about cleaning and putting away our kitchen knives tho'...

This is her tool box. Apologies for the pic but it contains everything she needs - and, to be honest, it has everything anyone needs to do small maintenance tasks.

The power steering went on my van. Looks to be the pump (no fluid seems to have leaked/drained and the aux belt is fine). I was thinking of trying to swap it myself for the angry-lols. However, someone on the Berlingo forum posted "If any metal got ground off when the pump failed, you may end up losing the rack also, soon. I would probably disconnect the feed hose from the steering rack and flush it somehow. " He also said he wasn't sure. So now I'm worried and not sure I have to be. Should I be?

Everytime I see one of these I think they did a great job with it .

If you are worried a big syringe, vacuum cyclinder and draw the fluid out. Filter the fluid to check for bits.

The fluid is still circulating, and the pump still turning and no play in the pully as pumps usually fail by leaking so can't build pressure to operate.

They work fine for me. I am not a mechanic so they don’t get a great deal of use - storage for tools mainly.

mebbe i just got a dud set, but the locking mechanism is crap and the drawers arent great either - on just slides forward randomly.

I would expect that to go straight into a collection. I would also expect a 3.2 litre turbocharged race engine producing 600 bhp to be tremendously exciting in a road car, when for example driving through London.

Hard to say. I don’t use the lock. The drawers are fine although I was careful to ensure they were level.
