  • SDW, that's South Downs?

  • The South Downs Way, yeah. Fantastic route, did a few sections of it last summer.

  • Well up for a summer ride, gives me a reason to pull my finger out and get on with building up the Cinder Cone. Count me in!

  • Cheers! I was so close to getting the green light to commence a 90s mtb build for my mate, but he’s ended up going for an uninspiring hybrid to commute with 🙄
I think it was me not being able to give him a firm answer on budget or timescale that did it...

  • We could actually try the full thing, Winchester to Brighton on day one, Brighton to Eastbourne day two. You can bail at Petersfield on day one and either loop back to Winchester or get the train straight up to London and I would imagine that there is a similar bailout for the second day.

For those wanting a few hours in beautiful countryside just turn up planning on the Winchester- Petersfield - Winchester route.

  • Sounds good! Gives me a reason to dust off the M1000.

  • Are you still after a pair of Onza bar ends? I might have some black ones in the parts box.

  • Anyone got a 26inch rear rim brake wheel that will take 9 speed for sale, will need it posting to Liverpool, think rusty stuff flowing out of the rear now means death soon, ta

  • Always interested but shipping costs from UK might be high?

  • If my restomod Rockhopper is welcome I'd love to tag along on a retro ride on the SDW.

If anyone is game once life goes back to normal King Alfreds Way sounds quite appealing.

  • No worries mate!

  • If anyone is game once life goes back to normal King Alfreds Way sounds quite appealing.

    Yes, keen!

  • Sadly no, but (literally) a boyhood dream of mine. Chap who owns it just posted it in the Pace Facebook group.

  • Which size would be correct? Based on BITD sizing wisdom I'd likely pick a 19".

  • And a 19” has just come up on the Facebook group. What are the odds?

  • How tall are you?

  • Isn't buying a Pace kinda just like throwing money down the drain as it will crack at some point.

  • Some retropr0n.

  • Iconic...

  • Legend.
He waved at me and my bro on one of the climbs at Newnham park Grundig one year, made my day as a mtb obsessed teen, he was also one of the few riders styling over the jumps (in a cross country race!) The sound of those Tioga discs was damn cool too.

  • There’s a Marin FSR on eBay right now. Massive retro-boner.

  • Grundig World Cup Houffalize., back in 1993, as far as I remember. My younger brother asking Tomes for an autograph.

    (Maybe repost...)
