Fascinating - https://www.wristwatchreview.com/rolex-wants-to-take-a-microbrands-trademark/
Edit: damn Rolex.

The Kiger logo is stylized very similarly to the Heuer logo without the line around it. Which would be much more egregious from a copyright perspective I would have thought.
Interested to see how it pans out. Would be tempted to sell the trademark to Rolex and ride off into the sunset.

Hoodwinkee look like they’re going to attempt a pseudo-2447 limited edition collabo here, @freddo please can you absolutely savage it if & when they do? Thanks in advance

Love this.
Felt the threads on the crowns? Sublime

These watches all look very big for your wrist.

I also have small wrists but I wear watches that are size appropriate.

The Tag Heuer brand is so far removed from the original Heuer brand that Tag might simply be considered to be releasing homages watches under license. And whilst these are supposedly collaborations with hodinkee, the reality is that their arrangement is more like an exclusive distribution agreement.
You’re right, personally I hate these watches, not only because they murder the original designs but also because they shove automatic movements into them, messing up the case heights. The elegance of the proportions of a watch are to me what fonts are to you I suspect. Once the spell is broken...
I suspect this will be a 2447 NT reissue in 39mm (the original is 37mm), based on the chonky 2020 reissue of the 2447S.
I can see what Tag are doing, they see Breitling moving up the charts with new designs and Heuer is the darling of hodinkee as a result of the NY / USA connection that Jack Heuer developed in the Mad Men years of the early 1960’s. It just would have helped if they hadn’t been overcome with private equity greed and exuberance in the 1980’s. -

If you back the camera up a fair amount you might find the reduction in lens distortion presents them better.

If you like larger diameter watches but have skinny wrists (like me) then look for ones with very short lug to lug or cushion style cases - the seiko mini turtle might be up your street if you have a penchant for divers (42mm case but only 42mm lug to lug so fits smaller wrists - by comparison the lug to lug of a 36mm explorer / smiths everest is 43.6mm). Worth checking out.

Couldn’t agree more with everything you said. I also think it’s going to be an NT or maybe N/panda version of that reissue. You can see how thick it is in the teaser.

So I remember by aligning the Tudor script on the face and the strap. Should both be the right way up.

Personally, wear what you want. If it makes you happy, wear it.
Wear monster watches. Wear microscopic beads. Whatever makes you smile when you look at your wrist.

I was just reading that story, this photo of their 'homage' next to the original really highlights how they missed the mark. It may as well be a Swatch with the same colour face. They even got rid of 15 in 5 minutes timer which was the whole point of the watch in the first place.

Calling all Grand Seiko owners... i got this in the box with my recent grey alpinist purchase. Not going to use it (not least as I don't own a GS) but it's nicely made. If you want it it's yours - gifted postage within the UK.

Quite a stark difference between the two watches, the Vostok look massive but smaller than Seiko.

I love it. I wanted the 36mm, but they are not easy to find. I actually stopped looking for these a while ago, as it seemed they were either snapped up super quick or not in great condition. This was a nice coincidence when the guy messaged me about another watch offering this in a trade. It turned out it’s a mint example with box and papers and he’s local to me. It was meant to be I think.
Is anyone looking for an FOIS? My mate is selling one for £3.7k plus postage with the Forstner bracelet already (original strap too of course). It's a late December watch, so still plenty of warranty. Only worn few times - bargain basically.
