Has anyone got any pictures or links to really classy rim-brake carbon builds? Not HHSRB, really, more like the type of thing you’d imagine on the Cent Cols. Parlees, tasteful Cervelos. That type of thing.

Yours? Looks fast!

Yeah. Thanks!
I need to get more time in the saddle to do it justice, haven’t had many chances to ride bikes since the pandemic started.

Nice. Cockpoint setup is particularly on the money. This era of Sram is the best looking by far.
What’s the bottle cage? I’d always thought brushed (?) metal would look terrible on a modern bike but I like this.

Must be King. Want me to dump a load of carbon bikes with metal cages?
-
• #8785
Not quite. Nice build, but I meant slender profile, non-aero…a generation before this. I’ve found some on PR.

Thanks. I’m a sram fanboi. I think if I upgraded the groupset on this it would be first gen red etap for looks over functionality. But I like force 22 for form and function.
Cages are King stainless. I’ve actually switched to carbon SKS ones now for sponsorship reasons. King cages will go on a future workhorse build I’m planning currently

Ah ok. I’ve got a Ridley Helium and pics of my old Look 243 with similar setups

The Look is lovely. What’s the workhorse build? A road bike?
I was looking for builds like these. Modern but fairly low-key. Often featuring custom wheels and king cages.

Was lovely. The brake bridge unbonded a few years back... still have the frame for the memories but it’s unrideable.
Workhorse will be something like a Brother Allday or Surly Steamroller with some flashy bits. I want something I can ride around town and lock up without fuss, the rest of my stable is pretty expensive to leave unattended.

I had a couple of CAAD12s too, but didn’t post cos they’re alloy.

Magic gear it and ride it fixed? :)

That Ridley is lovely.

I should also the cranks bolt rounded and is stuck in the frame and I’ve sold the forks and headset.

Those CAADs look great. I guess I’m just lazy and go with black carbon aliexpress cages on every bike.

Cheers. Only gets ridden a few times a year around Japanese mountains when I’m allowed to fly out there.

They’re Supersixes! Yes, me too but I’ve lost bottles from those mandible knock-offs multiple times now. I’m looking for something more secure.

Same - I’ve had two bounce out on the first lap of a road race near Barnsley on a hot day and finished like a husk.
They look good though.

Can someone explain what americanism, hip term low-key means?
I know! I guess he doesn’t have any cable stops.
He’s got another build of that frame without the brifters that’s arguably better.
