This is a good shout & a good way to lose the last hour of work!
Commissions aren't my thing though - I like looking at or trying to work out other people's creativity, they don't need my boring input.

Plus one on the #ArtistSupportPledge I've sold quite a lot of works over the last year, all thanks to the pledge and in turn bought some wonderful pieces as well.
Getting very chummy with my local framers.
Buy art from artists if you can!

Have a look at #artistsupportpledge on instagram. The initial meaning of the tag isn't necessarily that relevant to what you ask – to my understanding it was about artists supporting each other financially during the pandemic. But I've found that the artists using that tag tend to price their works quite reasonably. Be prepared to sift through plenty of works that don't speak to you, but with a bit of patience you'll find there are nuggets of gold there too.
If you see anything you like don't be shy about writing to the artist and ask if they might not have a list of works for sale, or if they'd be up for a commission. (A painting of a sweet fixed gear bike being the obvious choice).
