Nice, with decent track cranks getting as pricey as they are these days I've been thinking on using road cranks. Guessing you'd need something like a 3mm spacer on the back?

On the axle?
You always have the option of using a geared chain and 3/32 cog.

Road double cranks with the chainring on the inside of the spider will usually give an acceptable chainline with a track hub.

I'd wondered about this crankset combo... have a 105 crankset hanging about doing nothing. this has put me off 😂 maybe on a fatter tubed bike?

i dont think its that bad tbh!

Funny you found this, this is my get around bike. It goes through a few phases throughout the year, it was setup like this for a bit but now is setup for cyclocross.

Just finished up the first build of my new So-Ez. Currently running my ‘race day tyres’ while I decide on some better day-to-day ones. I might paint it one day, but I’m happy with it in the plain old black for the time being.
I think flat bars are probably the first change i’ll make, aside from the tyres, and I’m sure it’ll spiral from there and end in me spending far more than the bike’s worth in the name of ‘upgrades’!

Nice. I like the So-Ez frame, but the thing that puts me off is 135mm rear hub and road cranks required when I've got a perfectly good wheelset and Sram Omniums ready to go on my planned Tracklocross/Workhorse build.
If anyone is thinking of selling a 54cm Allday or 53cm Steamroller (or anything else similar in style and size) then let me know :)

I don’t think road cranks are required as they came with Squid branded Stronglight Square Taper cranks, I’m using road cranks for a better choice of smaller chainrings for when CX season comes around (yes, I plan on racing it).
Spacing is a bit of a pain, and the chainline has taken some figuring out but seems OK with 1 BB spacer on the drive side and reversing the cog on the rear so it runs inboard towards the hub shell.

Yeah, I get it, but it's a bit of a faff compared to other similar frames out there. I know they fit track cranks, but I would like to use parts I have already and Omniums don't fit at all unfortunately.
I'm hoping to be able to revive ThunderCross this year (pandemic restrictions pending) and want to adjust the format to make it more Tracklocross and Single Speed friendly.

Cheers! Wanted the barspins and to be able to stop, so using the headset with a disc fork is ideal
