How much space does that take up in total vertically? I'm looking at options to store bikes off of the floor in quite a small space (so that I can fit another bike in our downstairs loo). For some reason I hadn't thought of the fact that the bikes could overlap with this sort of setup. Getting 2 bikes on the wall instead of 1 would be ideal.
My ceiling is 2.4 metres from the floor, I get four bikes overlapped on the wall, with the lowest around 15-20 cm off the deck, so enough height to hoover etc underneath.
The key thing to the overlap I've found is what your pedals are - Speedplay Zero have a lot of axle relative to for e.g. a traditional Look style pedal, so the bike with Speedplay will hang further away from the wall- which makes it easier to overlap.
In my picture the Criterium is at the top because the pedals on that are conventional road pedals, which hold it closer to the wall than the CSi which has Zero's, and is slightly further out - more room for the handlebars to occupy a space slightly outboard of the forks of the other bike.
