The cut sleeves are the difference between being able to carry the jacket in your jersey pocket or not IME. I rarely use mine much but on occasion it's quite handy.

I never even considered doing that.

I mean, even knowing about it, I'm still not sure I'd consider doing it, given how much jackets cost. But for packability, especially since I often tend to race with arm sleeves on these days it might be something to consider.

I should have added that I most probably bought it at a staff sample sale for £25... and I had/have other jackets to wear.
Nowadays I'd just get a Shakedry, if it's all it's cracked up to be it should cover a larger range of uses and conditions than what was available even 5 years ago.
