  • I’ve really enjoyed them.

I’ve also really liked their faster stability show - the Ravenna. It’s changed name now though.

I’m planning on getting some Hoka Arahi’s as they get rated pretty highly too.

  • The Hokas look nice. I've not heard or even read much about them and the Brooks often pop up heavily discounted almost half price which is an added plus.

  • I’ll have to keep an eye out. I got mine 15% off but would get some more if they were that cheap!

  • I saw some really cheap the other day but i think they were wide fit? If their any good i can retrace my footsteps and see if i can find the link. What size are you?

  • I’m getting a blister on the RH inside arch behind the ball from the Pegasus on long runs. Seems to be the insole perhaps? It’s getting better but have relaxed the lacing a little and tried different socks. Left foot (which is my “weird” foot that pronates in its own unique manner) is absolutely fine!

Maybe I’ll stick my phone in the left pocket and see if it affects the gait.

  • I’m not wide and take a 7 in Brooks. If you see any please do let me know!

  • Sorry if no good but the ones i saw on runningshoes.co.uk were in a 2E width but they are available in most sizes (not widths) £60 so half price and they are offering a 15% discount for mailing list/club sign up for new customers. I didn't check the T&C's to see if the discount applicable to sale items but either way that is cheap for anyone looking for them in the slightly fit. May be worth giving them a try with some thicker socks on at that price especially as it's still cold out as i gather the width difference one up or down isn't huge. Someone said around 4mm but i have zero experience with Brooks sizing so can't comment on that.

  • Sorry i can't seem to post links from my phone. Wide and extra wide appear available in most sizes

  • Nice, will have a look! Cheers

  • Is it me or do brooks soles look like they’re getting thinner rather than thicker like Nike and Adidas

  • A mate of mine from my running club ran the Capital Ring yesterday. He was aiming for sub 12 hours but did 13 houses instead.

It's about 75 miles around the outskirts of London.

The Woolwich foot tunnel was flooded, which can't have helped, seeing as that was right near the start.

Here's a rubbish screenshot from a video he shot in the tunnel

  • I tried to cycle it once, gave up at Richmond

  • Impressive run!

  • Recovery week for me this week, which meant 15x1minute with 1min recovery trying to hit 5k pace each rep... don’t really like short reps, and legs felt pretty rubbish after Sunday’s 2 runs... but another one ticked off!

  • Entered an actual race yesterday so starting to reintroduce some more bike back into the plan so today i did a watt bike/treadmill multi brick 3x10 minutes low Z4 (4.1 w/kg) on the bike each followed by 10 minutes @ 3:52/3:45/3:38 p/km pace which is 1/2 marathon pace, tempo, threshold intensity followed by a pizza/pasta brick workout immediately after.

  • Oof. ~ 4h20 marathon pace for almost 3 marathons with 1300m elevation change and some challenging terrain (mud/water/etc).

  • Ha! That puts it in context well. Amazing running.

  • Very impressive, love the idea of getting down to the foot tunnel seeing that and just carrying on.

Now to my 6km last night ... Slight ankle roll half way which felt fine after so didn't stop the run, but woken up this morning to a slight soreness. Can still walk, put weight on etc but slightly limited movement. Best practice just to stay off it, ice and elevation?

  • Needed some new headphones that will STAY.IN.MY.EARS.
Just bought these on your recommendation. Ta!

  • Nice! Hope they work out for you.

Should really have qualified my OP with "stays in my ears"

  • actually did exactly the same, bloody high stack shoes, my plan is to ignore it.

  • Rebuilding fitness and my "long run" is up to the dizzying heights of 9k. Decided to give one of my old routes a try that includes the muddy/hilly stretch behind Putney Vale Cemetery. Oof. Too fat and unfit to keep running the whole way, but I made it round eventually.

Am doing a lot more walking as Mrs GB's family is doing a steps challenge during Feb. 24 of us from 11 to 80 years old. I set out to do a minimum of 10k steps/day but this has increased to 20k/day, that should have a positive effect on my fitness.

Will pick a flatter and easier 10k route for next week.

  • Does anyone on here wear saucony or have knowledge of their fit? Are they generally wide or narrow.

I’m looking at a pair of iso fit

  • I've had loads of Sauconys 10+ pairs and I'd say their regular fit. What brands/ models do you generally get on with?

  • Yeah, regular or normal fit. At least freedoms and kinvaras.
