  • Weird question, but speaking of statement fireplaces...

Does anyone else arrive at a vision for the interior of a room based on an album/music?

Our kitchen was 10 000 hz legend, we played it when we did Open House London and for viewings.

I think our new living room is going to be Tubular Bells II, lol.

    Just me?

  • Sorry all I read was;

"Has Anyone Really Been Far Even as Decided to Use Even Go Want to do Sound More Like?"

  • Not serious.

Trying to search reddit and it looks like by a wall gives the easiest way to hide the cable... But then that seems a shame.

We tarted up some ugly cables once by wrapping brassy green paracord around the flex. I wonder if you could something similar(?) The added thickness also forces it into more uniform curves.

  • I wish the serif had the frame's connect box too - would tidy up the cable management for us GAMERS somewhat

Old mate of mine has secured planning permission, so impressed that he hasn’t lost any appetite for good design.

  • Hmm, on Metropolitan Open Land - contentious is the right word!

  • Are the legs hollow? If not, could they be replaced with hollow legs?

As in metal tubing not @hollow__legs

  • Boris relaxed rules on contaminated and open land.. its was near impossible to build on them just a few years ago.

  • Point OH here to witness the overwhelming response in favour of.

Or you could buy cheaper tele with a nicer stand. Not necessarily this one but, you know, similar.

  • (But get a Serif)

  • y u no projector?

  • Thanks this is sage

  • Love my Serif.

Plants was such a good shout. The slightly jazzier idea I had was to paint 1/3 of the ceiling above the table and on he wall to zone the room. Could look good. Might also look shit

Also @Sheppz need to see your avatar in that room for full effect

  • hard but not an impossible wank spot

  • I have faith in you.

  • Yeah will do - this was another one from my 3 am spiral - the shelves need to come down (too high) - I’m thinking a chair on the left hand corner of the rug is maybe not good now too cluttered

Central ceiling over the lounge is questionable too for me - dunno ceilings are low for a start and anyway I hate overhead light so it’s really just a feature to ‘centre’ the lounge.

Plants where tho ? Back right hand corner works - on a stand/s to lift up . Artemide tolomeo too for movable low /high task light with soft round shade ?

Left hand corner of rug is tricky -it’s exposed. feel it needs something but needs to be livable.

  • Bigger TV.
What about creating a divide with the sofa and having a new larger TV where the shelves are?

  • Are these photos in black and white or is the whole room genuinely monochrome?

  • We also have a massive window at the end of the living room. In the summer we have the room set up with that as the focus, but in the winter it's, as you say, not so cosy, so we switch around and have sofa backing onto it and face the stove. TV moves from one corner of the room to another.
In your case, have current set up for summer, but winter swap the wall sofa and tv stand around (so new big TV obscures ugly rad).
I'd go with all wall/standing lights, nothing on the ceiling. Allows more flexibility to move the room around and gives cosier ambience.
Instead of extra chair (unless you need the seating) get an oval/round coffee table. Softens the lines and makes the sofas less obvioulsy round the edges of the room.

  • How about using a big tv as a divider?

  • I'm keeping an eye out on the today tab to check whether @mrssheppz registers as a new user

she'll be on here giving us what for at this rate

  • Yep - intrigued....

  • hrumph can't make it work. have you considered just eating off your laps on the sofa and sacking off the dining table? ;)

  • I find dining and relaxed seating in the same room is never comfortable, maybe it’s the height differential.
