  • daytime 6 music seems to be some kind of distress beacon used to attract white people

You should read this thread from the beginning, it's almost the same posts every page, you can just substitute presenter names :D

I find it a source of calm in these troubled times.

  • Sex muuuusic kah !
    🤢

  • sadly my wife has conducted a stealth campaign to gain total control of the TV. it's all done off her ipad now and i don't know what any of the buttons do.

i mainly watch 90s NRL biff videos on youtube and vine compliations

or sometimes aussie rules videos where they catch a very high ball and the commentator goes WHAT A SPECCY!!!!1111!!!!!

  • Wot? No Spoony?

Yeah. Sure it has changed but Savage encompassed everything wrong with the coverage of football, in general.

Infantile. Reliant on clown-like ex-player "characters." A depth of analysis built on surface coating of platitudes and adages. Tepid regurguation of age old "wisdom" from old white guys who would never have made it as pros in todays game. "Jeans and sheux" behind a mic.

But it's too late. Haven't paid attention to football in 7 years. Don't miss it.

tl:dr - Robbie Savage killed a lifelong love of a game by epitomising everything wrong with the sport.

  • "I'm still on the same sentence, but for some reason... I'm saying this bit as if I'm no longer in the room but speaking to you over the phone."

    Fuck. Off.

    Brilliant!

  • Robbie Savage killed a lifelong love of a game by epitomising everything wrong with the sport.

That's just your opinion though. (Savage's 606 stock reply)

  • Mark Chapman with Chris Sutton and Micah Richards is regularly joyous

    Can. Not. Even...

  • fuck a horse. they played a song earlier that was, I shit you not, a rip off of tenacious D's one note song

I've turned over to magic 'we hope you recognise these songs from DFS adverts' soul, that's how strongly I feel

  • Anyone notice how Six news readers always, always mess up atleast one word?

  • Indeed! Mumbling Harvey Cook, the newsreader who has now finally just about managed to learn how to speak properly after 17 years of reading the news on 6music (why they didn’t ensure he could do this before appointing him to read the news is beyond me, but I guess back in 2003 it was only 1 man and his dog and me tuning in so perhaps it didn’t matter) is now graduating into other bbc radio stations news services as well. So I guess in time honoured fashion they’ve had to get some other mumblers in to replace him...

  • And Claaaaaiiire RONacres is waaay to pleased with her name.

  • Ha! Many's a time I've got annoyed with 6Music only to crash straight into a Whitney Houston key-change. It's a minefield!

  • In the early days of 6music I used to be in semi regular email contact with one of the daytime DJs who would always email me directly to apologise each time she was forced by the playlist to play Hard Fi.

I jokingly told her once that listening to Harvey Cook read the news was like watching a man with no arms slowly drown. She replied ‘no comment’.

She lost/left her job shortly afterwards but hopefully it was unrelated..!

  • Feltham Is Singing Out is a tune though

  • Crisp news tomorrow morning.

  • it's gonna be ma boy huey and his producer t-bone up in glossop

  • Is anyone else having issues with Sonos playing radio stations at the moment? I haven't been able to connect to any radio stations (using Sonos radio, TuneIn, and myTuner radio) since the weekend. There's precious little online about this bar the below article, but even that indicates that I should be able to connect to UK-based stations

  • I found invader.fm (Bristol) on radiogarden last night. A welcome change.

  • Why is the Marc Riley show recorded a week before broadcast? He mentions it about three times an hour, but haven't heard him explain why. I guess he must've done at some stage, and that it's pandemic-related, but would have assumed they'd have wired him up to broadcast live by this stage, or at least with less of a delay.

  • Shielding & technophobe?

  • He does it from home so I guess not in one take.

  • MAO told Shaun Keaveny about how she met John Peel for the first time (bonding for life) for 58th time today. Never gets old.

  • Never really understood how Peel seems to have got a free pass over the years. It's not like he was quiet about being a nonce.
