I've got DOT stuff and half the bleed kit.
I think I have graduated buyer school and would now like to go to whatever is one level above AliExpress brake hoses. Unless they're actually decent. Also I need them ASAP, current solution is duct taping my hoses to the frame.

Aliexpress is full of this stuff: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32974987089.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.14e538709rYTOg&algo_pvid=84e59df6-98ad-4937-ad05-59d4f4bdadd1&algo_expid=84e59df6-98ad-4937-ad05-59d4f4bdadd1-0&btsid=2100bdd516132257829321205e51ac&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_
Heads up, none of the sram/avid hoses listed there are compatible with your Rival stuff.
Part number for what you need is 00.5318.011.001
It uses a specific banjo connection thats only compatible with Rival22, Force22, Red22 and s700.
I learned this the expensive time consuming way
I've never found any cheap solution to this yet, I ended up forking out for the proper sram branded hose

This is the kind of thing I was worried about not being specific enough about. I knew there were hurdles available to fall over but thankfully don't have to try to hop them often enough to know exactly what they are.

Sorry to put you on the spot, just thought you might know!

No worries, the obvious answer is get Shimano anyway.

Is it possible to buy just the TRP Hylex lever? I have a set but the left lever has cracked.

Cheers, I did find that but then couldn't find any way to buy it. Or a shop that said it could be imported.
Hopefully I'm just crap at Google.

Upgrade bikes are the UK importer. Any shop with an account with them should be able to order from them;

Ah - I did not know that. Thanks, will ask my LBS.

Upgrade only have full brake levers with calipers on their site, you can buy left or right for post or flat mount but left hand only in stock, post mount right in stock 24/03, no date for flat mount, not that that matters too much if you've got the caliper already. £130 RRP.

Thanks. Manged to get hold of a full left lever. Only trouble was its a got a flat mount caliper.
If I want to swap the caliper and hose across to the new lever can I just undo the banjo on the lever and switch?

Struggling to find reasonably priced flat mount shimano calipers. Any reason why not to use a post mount caliper with an adapter instead? Frame/forks are flat mount.
-
• #7094
No reason, even MTB if you must.
-
• #7095
Cool, yeah thats what I was thinking actually. Think I even have a spare mtb caliper somewhere.
Any recommendations for adapters (or ones to avoid)?

Shimano's own;
SMMAF160PD
Bit spendy but best to get the original.
-
• #7097
Cool, thanks for that.

Frame clearance in the rear triangle may be an issue. Will depend on model / size though.

• #7099
are all shimano flat mount calipers the same except for the finish/paint/words?

They're essentially the same design, probably different materials, not sure off the top of my head but cheapest ones probably don't have ceramic pistons, pads they ship with are different but can all use the same ones.
And you need a bleed kit and DOT5.1
