ty based rohit

This is the sort of batting we would expect from India. As we know Pant will attack I still think they will get to around 400 which will be a great total.
Win the toss, win the match

Absorbing watching. Much prefer this type of pitch vs the absolute road on day 1 last of the last test

Well, err, hmm...

Rahane out twice there

Some rank decisions from the 3rd umpire. Made the not out decision on the toe on the line ridiculously quickly, then didn't even check the right thing for the review.
Edit - oh well, guess it didn't matter. Just hope we don't need that review.

Big wicket

Day 1 of a test match... Pitch shouldn’t be doing this.
BCCI really took that defeat badly, didn’t they.

Good days cricket, India on top. But if we can keep them below 350 then we'll still be in the game.

Imagine if they lost the toss

This made me laugh. I wonder how Johnny Bairstow would get on.

I think that report got quashed, but Bairstow is a phenomenally fit cricketer and it shows with his running between the wickets.
Oh yeah, Foakes is God tier, and showed why I've forever been desperate for him to play. Just makes it look easy...

Like me, deceptively wobbly for a super-athlete.

Foakes is so good

Damage limitation done, now to somehow bat. Ah.
-
• #9968
Going well.

No .... no , it isn’t ...

Can Dan Lawrence go home now?
-
• #9971
lovely stuff

loving life lads
-
• #9973
Ah, the reassuring feeling of waking up to a good old fashioned English batting collapse.
Bets on avoiding the follow on?
-
• #9974
I think India won this match the moment the coin landed yesterday morning. It’s only the second day and that wicket is playing like it’s the final session on the fifth. Grim stuff.

130 to avoid the follow on? looking ominous
So nice to see fans back in a cricket ground.
I like Rohit’s plan of getting fast runs before the surface deteriorates. Hope Pant does the same.
Over in three days this.
