the jockey wheel did not move at all in the latest Shimano derailleur.
That explains it. Case closed! Thanks for the explanation.

It is a bit, the frame is a 56 when a 58 is my size really.

Cheers!

Nice bike, but those are not regulation Scoblebricks ;-)

lol!

Yeah, but what's the point? The shop isn't going to let it go without it being setup right and pointing out something is 'possibly' incorrect after eyeballing a pic on the internet of a bike in a workstand is kinda, actually perfect, given this is the gravel thread. Carry on.

pointing out something is 'possibly' incorrect
Never my intention. Was just asking some questions because I was genuinely curious.
11-40 cassette on a standard road derailleur is pretty unusual and interesting stuff, so I think it's natural to want to know more details.
what's the point?
To learn. Today I learned that apparently this generation of road derailleur pivots differently than my MTB derailleur.

Yeah, but what's the point?
Ask myself every day but I somehow manage to dig deep and find the energy to post something dumb anyway. Small miracle.

To learn.
Never learn.

How are you liking this powermeter? Did you have a Power2Max before this one as well?
-
• #16791
You considering one? I didn’t take you for a data guy

Just trying to heal my relationship with hippy. I don't like fighting. :(
-
• #16793
Never fight with hippy, you both get dirty and hippy enjoys it.
-
• #16794
arguing with hippy is like fighting with a gorilla. you don't stop when you're tired. you stop when hippy is tired.

My old P2M S-Type is on the grrl's bike.

That's not a fight, THIS is a fight.
(no, I don't know where to go with this either)
-
• #16797
It's a dirty job but somebody's got to do it.

• #16798
I thought you'd go for the simpler "he's also large and hairy" but I like this better.

I spotted a gold Trek Crockett converted to flatbars in Epping yesterday- absolutely has to be someone on here
You’re correct in general as rear derailleur do that.
However the jockey wheel did not move at all in the latest Shimano derailleur.
Please ignore the mere mortal helping me demonstrate this in this gif;
