How would I go about boxing in my boiler? Kitchen was installed by the person before us so probably won’t be able to get one of the cabinets from wren anyway. But since it’s at the other side of the room it should probably be white anyway.

but the high end swanky looking stuff is mostly around the south east
There are rich people outside the south east too. For example saw this looking at a builder's website gallery this morning- bet even the golf club thread would be impressed

revolting east coast pish. mods pls ban this man

That looks as if it can hold no more than a couple of hundred bottles, which is not nearly enough for a well-stocked wine cellar. Thousands or GTFO >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> :)

Do it.
I really want one.
Someone on a forum somewhere made their own while their extension was being built. Not that expensive, but more than you'd expect to diy.
Also (not) interestingly they are technically staircases and don't need planning.

• #43392
Well one of those ones up ^^ costs about £50k so even an expensive DIY option will be a fair wedge cheaper (are you talking about the one from the wine society forum?)

@plantasia I would create a new floor to ceiling cupboard which will by the looks of things need to be protruding out beyond the left wall to cover the boiler - you could check out some standard Howdens doors sizes and build the cupboard apertures to fit them.
Someone with more legit knowledge can advise but i’d probably fit an air inlet at the top - because boiler.
Then have a bunch of shelves running down the right hand side for books, booze, soy sauce and other things that collect dust.
-

You dont need an inlet for air on combis all air comes from outside, just enough clearance so case can be accessed and worked on when it does breakdown or needs serviced.
-
• #43395
Nice one @konastab01 - is that clearance from all sides or just access at the base of the boiler?
-
• #43396
Yes. Well remembered.

Baxi's are 5mm either side and 450 or 500 infront of it for access. Most MI instructions are similar now and will tell you want they need.
Pretty much all baxis are designed to be fitting in a standard 600 cupboard.

Tacky AF

Find the installers manual for the boiler. It will list the clearances needed on all sides. Fit cupboards accordingly.

Get auger. Make hole in garden.
Piece of drainage pipe, cut in half lengthwise, fit little shelves along its length to stand the bottles on, stick a handle on the end, job done.
