  • I'm not clever enough to interpret that! looks patchy and quite dry? So will break up and become unplayable?

  • I'd be more inclined to play Foakes at 3 I think and Mo at 7 but I think they'll give Lawrence another go...

  • Well as Bess has been dropped Ali will just slot in at 7 like for like.

Lawrence at 3 and Foakes at 6.

Would love to see Foakes get some runs again

  • Looks like a dusty road to me, one that will break up as rapidly as anything laid by East Sussex Highways.

If I'm right, what it really looks like is a good toss to win.

  • That looks like 3 pitches in one. Guess they should just have the toss and award the match on that basis. Saves any players getting injured, etc.

  • From the 'chat' it seems like this is made up of red and black soil, will which inevitably produce some variability from Day 1; Rahane himself said he thinks it'll turn from Day 1.

As always, win the toss, bat first, bat big...

  • I have a feeling India will win the toss and post 350-400 and we will really struggle to 200ish in our first innings.

    Could be a short test!

  • Kohli's winning toss percentage is abject, particularly against England

  • I'm not sure that Bess having been dropped has anything to do with Ali's batting position or the selection of Lawrence? Ah, I see, you are assuming Bess for Ali is the straight change - whilst this will be the case in one sense, I would also consider Lawrence for Woakes to strengthen batting and bowling, but they're already making far more changes than you would be comfortable making in a winning team, so don't see it happening...

  • 03.45 ish for the toss?

  • assuming Bess for Ali is the straight change

I think this will be the case. Ali will be told to go and focus on his bowling without the pressure of scoring runs. If he does put a knock together, that’s a bonus.

  • 3:30; C4 coverage at 3:40

As for Moeen, he'll forever have an incredibly high ceiling in terms of what he can produce, and since the last tour there where he got carted has been somewhat up and down. I hope he does well, because when he's in full flow he's a marvellous cricketer to watch, aided by the fact he comes across as a lovely bloke to boot...

  • Oh agreed - I was advocating for Foakes at 3 to allow the extra bowler in Woakes as worried about our attack with no Archer and Jimmy...

  • It would be a huuuge ask of Foakes to drop him in at three. That spot remains a bit of a problem, not helped by Crawley falling over.

  • Foakes has never batted any higher than 5, suspect he'll stay at 7 where he was last time. Glad to see him finally get his go.

  • Well, err. Not ideal

  • Yes Stoney!

  • Holy shit!

  • Commentator’s curse

  • Lovely

  • Kohli's face.

  • God I love Mo

  • What's the deal with the fans, have they all had to have negative tests? Doesn't look like a lot of social distancing in an attempt to get out of the sun.

  • Ha, nice one. Been waiting for another replay to grab that.
