Is the upper pulley wheel not closer to the cassette when you're in the small chain ring? Will it not hit the biggest cog?

What I'm saying is that the upper pulley will move closer to the biggest cog once you shift to the small chainring, and it's already pretty close in Ed's picture.
But Ed says it works, so I guess not a problem.
