  • Lol, that’s what I have had all my life. I took it for granted to the point that I didn’t even check if the rads have trvs. Too late now, we are buying the place.

    I guess I wanted to know if it’s better to pay xxx for a standard wireless roomstat to make sure the heating is not on all night or if a ‘smart’ system is worth it for a little more investment.

    One thing to add, I would love a system with a ‘boost’ button. It’s always about being cold now (opened window when cooking, sitting ages so got cold). Currently it’s on or timer. If you are cold you switch to on, then at 2am you wake and remember you didn’t switch back to timer.

  • I have a netatmo smart thermostat (mainly because it was cheap and really easy to fit in a variety of different setups).

    One of the useful features is you can set the boost time so if you turn the heating up it reverts to the standard schedule after a couple of hours (or whatever time period you set up).

  • This is great, thanks. I’m sure lots of systems have it, but i may not need the extra tech they provide.
