What should I do with excess speaker wire? Does it make any difference? I don't want to trim it as I may move stuff around.

What kind of audiophile are you that doesn't have a manual on cable management to refer to :)

I use the new plastic velcro stuff and I wouldn't object to excess coiled up behind the speaker. If they are not in a mess around power cables that probably helps to stop them acting like aerials.

The trouble is each manual says something different ...

There are a variety of other power cables, I'll have to work out how best to coil them up away from those.
