I'm not sure that Bess having been dropped has anything to do with Ali's batting position or the selection of Lawrence? Ah, I see, you are assuming Bess for Ali is the straight change - whilst this will be the case in one sense, I would also consider Lawrence for Woakes to strengthen batting and bowling, but they're already making far more changes than you would be comfortable making in a winning team, so don't see it happening...

Well as Bess has been dropped Ali will just slot in at 7 like for like.
Lawrence at 3 and Foakes at 6.
Would love to see Foakes get some runs again
