Too kind. Not sure it’d survive a lot of the riding you do in Scotland haha

Second what everyone else is saying - the Festka is stunning. I've been following you on instagram, really great to see it ridden.
How are you finding the BOR chainrings? I'm thinking of getting a pair.
-

Thanks man and, yes, no point having a bike as a show piece in my view (not enough space in Japanese homes, even if I could!).
Shifting is spot on with the BOR rings.
From what I hear from friends, Extralite rings can be hit or miss with shifting, but, on a SRAM mechanical drivetrain, these have been very good (crosses fingers).
They seem to be an ideal compromise between good shifting and shifting weight.

Good to hear. Yeah I've heard that extralite rings suck. I tried TA specialities rings and they're awful with sram mechanical. It's between stronglight ct2's and BOR rings - think I'll go BOR!

Not sure how they're claiming world's lightest when there's a 2.7kg bike but it's a decent build video.
-
• #107
That wasn't a complete bike; downtube shifters pfff
-
• #108
I can't even imagine how that handles, my evo hi-mod is already scary enough at 6kg
-
• #109
My 6.1kg TCR feels pretty solid

Has anyone come across a Yasujiro Svelte in real life?
5.42kg in this build and it's a steel frame but I wonder how it would be for longevity with such lightweight tubing?
-
• #111
I’m guessing it’ll be noodley AF
-
• #112
That's my concern... they're not violently expensive and they're awfully pretty but I suspect I'm probably too far off pro-weight to have one without it buckling after a while :(
-
• #113
Maybe I’m not a beast enough but steel frames only ever feel too stiff, lightweight steel to me feel “compliant”. I rode an sworks Crux at work yesterday and that was stiff in a good way, overbuilt steel to give that rigidity for power transfer feels shit.

I'm not sure how the Tange tubeset compairs to high-end Columbus but if its anything like Spirit then itll be far from noodly. I had a track frame made out of columbus spirit, tubes felt like they were made of shaved down coke cans but noodly it was not

I'm planning to put my Scott addict RC on a bit of a diet and have an Extralite hyperstem to put on.
The low torque spec looks sketchy AF though.
Anyone got experience? -
• #116
Yeah, use carbon assembly paste for the bars. Other than that, no issues
-
• #117
I've fitted a few. Chap yesterday whos probably 95kg and mentioned he'd probably pushed it to 2.5nm rather than 2 but that his bars hadn't slipped.
The clamp is wide which provides a lot of surface for friction. Just use assembly grip paste -
• #118
And if it's 120mm then nah it's shit and you better sell it to me
-
• #119
It is 120mm -12 degree, and get in the queue
-
• #120
95kg people using stems requiring 2Nm torque. At what point do bike shops go "Darwin Awards Candidate - I'm not touching this bike, mate"
-
• #121
I've always liked you yaknow. Did I ever tell you that?
-
• #122
I should weigh my Enduro bike, for the LoLs.
-
• #123
I bet my rigid bike weighs more
-
• #124
I suspect yours will be lighter than mine...

How would you go about buying one? Do you order direct from the builder? When I saw it a couple of years ago I thought it was just a one-off / demo type thing. I want one too now!
Love this Dom, still one of my all time favourite bikes. If it were mine, I wouldn’t change a thing ;)
