  • That's a good deal.

  • @pit cheers. Would you recommend them for their servicing? They are 30 min drive away ish from me

  • Amey I have pretty much all the tools for the various BB standards, plus presses and extractors.

  • I'm curious to know which bearing extractors you have?
I've been looking at some kits for small - medium sized bearings (wheel bearing sorta stuff) but haven't made a decision on what to get yet.

  • but I have to go up that hill .. :'''''(

  • You have an ebike!

  • I actually have two

  • okay @Dammit I think I am going to have to borrow a PF92 removal tool that doesent require hammering if you have

  • Also, why not hope? https://www.hopetech.com/products/drivetrain/bottom-bracket/press-fit-pf46-bottom-bracket/

I somehow have the tool to install that as its the same BB in my Canyon (over 5k miles in all kinds of weather and zero issues).

  • The forks came back in better shape than they came in from the factory. I fully intend to use them for the next 100 hours service.

  • Seems to be an occasional thing with Rockshox. A good product that's sometimes poorly assembled from new

  • Cheers, I've done Spring Park but then always headed South. Looks like a good ride to link Spring Park > Shirley Heath > Kennel Wood > Addington Hills if you're able to get through Addington Golf Club.

  • I'll send my pikes there as well when time comes. So far they only done my Fox suspension.

  • Ride along Shirley Church Road (or better in the little woods to the NE, some kids are building dirt jumps) and then turn left just before Shirley High, Pinewoods has a fun trail linking to Upper Shirley Rd

  • Yeah, my safety glasses steam up a lot but my Tifosi do not. I've put it down to the Tifosi being further from my face, ie. the nose piece pushes the lenses away. So it's letting more air behind them. Probably not as good on the road, at speed, but when you're climbing some steep bastard thing at walking pace they don't fog up anywhere near as much as the Bolle safteys that sit quite close.

  • Oh, I've also tried that anti-fogging and anti-rain sprays. I can't remember what they were called, maybe something like Fog-X or Scan-X or something. They did work but still werne't great and because I get into the habit of licking my glasses when they steam up I didn't want chemicals on them so I stopped using them.

  • It wasn't Rain-X, it was Salclear:

  • I get into the habit of licking my glasses when they steam up

Can you do that while you're wearing them?!

  • No, but I can lick my nose.

  • Ooh! Another dialled bikes fan. I've had a mk 1 PA with the extra tube for circa 15 years but sold the frame in lockdown 1.
    Currently riding a mk 2 725 PA

  • The forks came back in better shape than they came in from the factory.

    @bobble
Pretty much any fork once it's been to a tuners will be better than from the factory, they're remove the excess grease that blocks the transfer port and probably use a better quality and/or more appropriate oil for our climate. Rockshox oil is 0/30w, TF is 20w the difference is night and day. On Fox the difference isn't so stark, but bear in mind that they generally use 2 different oils because, the dampers have a form of open bath in Grip 1 & 2. I think TF use Motorex Supergliss as a general oil.

  • Having the forks/shock tuned for your weight also helps.

  • Shock should really be tuned regardless as pretty much each frame design has its particular variance in the shape of it's stroke.

The fork if you're particularly heavy or light, but less important than the shock. For what it's worth you might as well get it done when you get the damper serviced.

  • Mine's the mid 2000s 853 frame that's way heavier than it should be for an 853 frame. I think the Dialled ethos is "always be making shit stronger" rather than "how can I keep this strength and make it lighter".

  • I nearly bought a Prince Albert as my first mtb but I ballsed up on eBay cos I wasn't logged in and tried to bid in the last few seconds. Ended up with a DMR trailstar instead. #csb
