My first OTP gravel bike came with 28c tires and 52/36 with a 28 cassette, and it was fine for dirt roads.

I'd have ridden 28s at 100psi on that course. Maybe even a 25 up front for the aeroz.

I rode gravel for years on a road bike with 28s. I'm now attempting to build a gravel bike after breaking my canti cross bike on some pretty rough descents, but I'm concerned that my bars might be too wide and I've chosen the wrong wheel size.
Good to know I can just bin it and go back to my road bike, or my xc hardtail.
Thanks lfgss. -

Road has finally killed gravel.

My first gravel bike came with 5mm tyres and 63/53 and 11-21. Good thing I had the fitness and skills of a pro cyclist, rather than an aging IT professional, otherwise it would have been completely impractical.

Didn't have the luxury of pneumatic tyres when I first started gravelling

Needs an artisan saddle bag.

We had adult-sized fixed gear trikes with solid rubber tyres when we were kids.
Getting them sideways down the (gravel) driveway was so fuckin' rad. Eventually the outside wheels collapsed. They were probably collectors items. At least they got used. -

I had one of those for a while. Very much approved

not sure if your influence or the longing for my weirdo bike to be built but been catching myself looking at hardtails recently and saying "look fun to ride the local woods they do"
will be sure to self flagellate over this

I had a horse with one leg, canvas panniers and canti brakes

I have fat tyre envy

• #16723
I've just added 60mm more sealant to the front tyre and the dregs I'd saved from a previous tyre into the rear.

Just add mudguards for a great commuter bike

What's the minimum tyre width for my commute from the bed to the PC? I'm thinking 32 is as low as I'd want to go given the obstacles on this route - dropped clothes, empty beer bottles, takeaway packaging, amazon boxes and padding, etc. Maybe even 38mm would be safer? Help me LFGSS you're my only hope...
That's beautiful, man
