  • We don’t see that many ideals tbh, I wouldn’t fit them personally but everyone’s got there preferences. We fit baxi and associated brands, boilers are good, easy to work on and baxis aftercare is decent. Most over rated and a pain to work on are Worcesters. Premium prices for a sub standard product imo.

Some people will have a boiler and never do anything to it, others will have issues. The manufacturers have gave themselves a noose to hang there selves with now though as they all have massive warranty’s and they all have get out of jails and sometimes it depends on the engineer that you get if it’s fixed under warranty or not.

It’s gonna be a mine field in a couple years that’s for sure.

  • What do you think of Viessmann? We just had one in and seems solid so far. The Bulgarian bloke who fitted it made much of the Deutsche Manufaktur aspect.

  • I had one fitted over a year ago now and it’s been fine. I have heating and hot water so can’t ask for more...

  • Viessmann have a good rep - they went on a big push last 2-3 years to gain market share in UK. I think a lot of this is convincing installers to fit them (eg they give them favourable prices etc).

  • The guy I go to for my training rates them highly, I’ve not had much to repair on them, they are more expensive I will say but I’ve heard they are good.

Most engineers have there boilers they like and work on, were baxi for reasons I listed.
