That just looks like it'd flap about when you were riding though.
Maybe I should just buy it and see if I can modify it.

Mine is inside my bag 99% of the time, it takes about 5 seconds to fit it and wear on your shoulder.

Can you rig up a messenger style cross strap to add to it?

You could just attach the straps and put the floppy bit in the bag, close the flap and then open the flap or unhook at one end and pull it through when you want to use the strap?
