  • No iPad in the middle of the centre console, no 'limp home' mode, no trips to the garage to get a fault code, no working out what that warning light means on the dash...

    actual lol'd

I now drive a car made by the other well known german manufacturer. Nothing lifts the spirits quite like your car suddenly saying DRIVE TRAIN MALFUNCTION MAXIMUM OUTPUT NOT AVAILABLE
Then having to drive home unable to get over 15mph knowing theres a minimum 4k repair bill coming

Would really love to get rid of the car and get an old Volvo 740 estate :)

  • Good choice!
I had an old V70 before the Golf. A good sized tree fell onto the front of it in the night and it reversed out from underneath with barely a scratch. Bloody indestructable thing.

Yeah I would love any old Volvo estate really. Our other family car is a modern Volvo, an independent Volvo specialist looks after it in Glasgow. Every time I'm there I always see some really nice old Volvos in for service. Theres a really souped up 850 estate I see around Glasgow all the time, its so obnoxiously loud that I often know its that particular car before I've even seen it.

Probably not the advice you want to hear but unless you really need the cash right now I'd keep the Golf!
