Rinse your toothpaste filled mouth with a fizzy drink if you want a proper foaming-at-the-mouth experience. Kids love it.

I'll take that as "I don't have a fucking clue but I'm going to comment on it anyway", because I don't remember you coming to NY or Boulder with me.

Well, New York and Boulder are both extremely expensive places to live and don’t represent the standard of food costs across the US. I’ve lived within 100-200kms of that border all my life and I know that people who live close enough right across Canada will go south for shopping trips, including groceries.

Well I live in SF (and have done for last 7 years)... you can buy toothpaste for <2$ at CVS/Walgreens no problem (feel free to check their websites).
Groceries is all over the place, no different to shopping in the UK. I can buy cheap cuts of meat, and lots of veggies for very little or I can drop $100+ on Wagyu. Honestly, everything in SF is def. cheaper than London EXCEPT housing. Which will beggar you.

Have bought a beer at Giants stadium, disagree

Tried to buy a beer at the o2 for a gig? Or the obligatory Tuborg at all decent music venues?
Not that much different. At least the beer here is better than Bud Light / Miller Lite for similar monies.

I've paid £11 for a 330ml bottle of warm Peroni in London before :/

No I haven't to be honest. It's the sort of thing I only do on holiday. I did check though and apparently it was $19.25 for just over 1 UK pint of 'premium craft draft' in 2018, making it the most expensive US baseball beer. Great garlic fries though 👍

hah bottom floor of Giants Stadium, go to Public House and get a beer at normal SF prices (~8$) they have doors into the Stadium as well (but you need to already BE in the stadium to use those doors so they give you a wrist band).
But yeah man, the price of beer at any venue ? be real lol

$16 for a can of Bud at Amelie Stadium, Tampa.
I think they price it so you don't get pissed up.
Imaginegettingtrying to get drunk on fucking Bud light -

Bud light is beer flavour homeopathy.

Also true, guess it's a mix that's then carbonated, the alcohol free stuff I've been not enjoying recently is better.

No garlic fries at The Garage. Although I'm not sure I'd order them from that venue TBF.

Is 'The Garage' a nickname for another US sports venue, or do you mean the Highbury venue I think I saw Napalm Death and the Melvins at in about 1993?
-
• #10622
Highbury Venue. Circa 1991 my Mrs was selling t-shirts for the Melvins at the Underworld in used to be on first name basis with Barney. I was halfway around the world at the original Emos after watching White Zombie with about 200 other people. Good times. Good times.

🤮
Actually (as far as I can remember, it's been a while) the O2 venue in Glasgow has a sort of half decent selection of drinks.
It's a shit show for taking a piss in, hearing the band play in or getting out of but at least you can get something remotely drinkable.
The SSE Hydro however is a full on boakfest. Last time I had a beer in there it didn't return much change from a tenner, was warm and flat and made me violently ill.

It’s been a while since I had to buy groceries in the UK. But from what I remember in the early 2000s something that would cost $1 in the States would cost £1.
My sensitive teeth tooth paste cost me $5.99 last week.

Reminds me of this I heard of recently https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Cent_Beer_Night
Didn't even tie his shoes! I'm almost certain we'll see him on a LiveLeak video before too long.
