I always mount mine 'outside' the frame as i think it makes you look wider to cars but probably in reality makes no difference at all!

Talk to me about the Supernova e3 mini 2 pro. Its billed as an E bike lamp but any reason why it wouldn't work with a dynamo hub? An SP for instance?

most likely the wrong voltage, probably 24 or 36 volts as opposed to 6
and DC as opposed to AC
Update compatible with all 12V motor light-ports

E-bike usually lights don't have smoothing, rectification or standlights, and are designed for a higher voltage.
Usually they'll "work" but they'll be extremely flickery and dim.

Yeah that all sounds right. I'll take it off and go for something else

I'm planning to use an old Di2 seatpost bung to make a cable quick release for my rear light - it's going up through the seatpost and under saddle.
Has anyone done this/any tips?

Fitted my Exposure Revo tonight, as an addition to the Sinewave Revolution I’ve had on here for a while. I’ll probably buy the updated version of my fork soon to obtain internal dynamo routing but have managed to make it semi tidy. Lamp and Sinewave are splined together onto the spade connectors, so if I have anything plugged into the Sinewave I have to unplug the cable from the lamp, but it tucks into the pocket of my stem pack.

Given sufficient washers will this work for a generic dynamo light with a typical bent-bit-of-wire/rod mount? (IQ-XS style but not an IQ-XS) And standard stem? Is there any better option?

Just want a no fuss 31.8mm handlebar clamp for my light basically. Don't care if it's slightly off to one side.

• #3637
One question, how do you fit it without removing all the handlebar hardware??

I don't think you do

They are a fucking pain in the ass, especially when you then realise you've put it the wrong way round.

My supernova front light recently stopped working. The rear light is still working fine. I assumed the light is broken, as it already had a couple of years of use and replaced it with a new iq-s. To my surprise the new front light still doesn't work, whereas the rear is fine..what am I doing wrong? I guess the dynamo hub should be fine as long as the rear light works. Any idea?

You’re a demon?

Which rear light and how's it all connected?
-
• #3647
Its a B&M Toplight Small. Rear light is connected to the corresponding cables exiting the front lights, front light directly to the dynamo using the standard shimano plug.

that's what the rest of the family says..

MV!
What do you think of the B+M line small rear, enough? Just about to pull trigger on a line small rear or an supernova E3 rear (twice the price, but is it twice the light!?).
Mounting rear up on saddle rail, routed cable internal following rear disc hose to BB cluster, then around EBB and inside seatpost, means drilling a small hole in top of clamp, but worth it for stealth lighting. By this stage in my life I've probably lost £3-400 in lights from theft and/or falling off due to brackets snapping. Trying to make this last version solid.

Most of the rear lights draw around 30mA.
I tried to measure the rear light current and voltage and couldn't get anything to even register (on my garbage no-name digital meter to be fair). It should be 6v DC, right? Coming off an IQ-X front.
Found a little L-shaped piece of metal and drilled two holes in it and it actually worked quite well
