Spoke to Apple support yesterday. They told me to install Mavericks on a USB drive and boot into that. 🤦🏻‍♂️
Mavericks doesn’t even support APFS. Ffs.

Thanks for this article. Sounds like I need to buy a thunderbolt cable in a last ditched attempt to get anywhere.

Apple support, like most support, is useless... if you are East London based I have a spare cable you can borrow, if you want to save a couple of quid.
