hot wax (i use msw) and squirt is for sure a good combo in the pnw. no rust which i had when i tried just using msw, and chains seem to last forever. don't have to refresh it all that often. like was out in solid rain w/o fenders for maybe 3 hours on saturday and chain was dirty but not close to squeaky on sunday. a wipe down and squirt re-application and it is all good.
