Number of tear-offs I saw on the trail in the Alps (when it was pissing down)= zero.
Number of tear-offs I have seen on the blue (!) trail at Swinley= one.
Not a huge sample size I grant you, but there you go.
yeah, most trails in t'alps have 'no tear off strip' signs on them altho I think wearing them is fine just not chucking them away in the wild.
I've been many times and like you can't recall seeing a single discarded tear off strip
