I hope I'm wrong, but I think you're only able to claim for lost/damaged watches/jewellery if sent via Special Delivery

Any of you chaps send watches with Royal Mail signed for? If so, how many days past due does it have to be before you ask for your money back? One was due Friday, the other Saturday so they're not late-late, but with zero tracking data available I'm feeling a bit adrift.
