  • The "rollers" on the Logitech trackball are three tiny ball bearings and the ball itself is easy to pop out because there's a small hole in the shell directly underneath it. Since what you have is basically an upside down optical mouse and you're rubbing your thumb over the surface of the ball, bits of you ending up on the bearings is inevitable. Roughly every two or three months I feel the motion of the trackball become a bit jumpy, pop the trackball out, two seconds to clean.

  • Nice one! Yeah I spotted the little hole in the bottom for poking the trackball out. Seems like a simple procedure. Can imagine it gets a bit inaccurate when grubby so nice that the cleaning is quick & easy.
