The nauseating thing about D's relentless OCD fuelled project spending is the fact that he can afford it, and doesn't mind (tastefully) letting us know.

yeah but i'm pretty sure the guitar thread isn't undiluted golf club fodder... yet.

Just you wait until Joe starts his Gibson ES buying phase!
Edit: I feel like. I'm playing with fire here, thankfully I currently don't have the spending power to match my buying ambitions or this really would be the pot calling the kettle etc. 😂

I am conscious that I'm the only PRS owner here, aka the Pinarello of the guitar world...

Yes, a thousand times over. I adore Osees (or whatever they're calling themselves this week). John Dwyer is almost up there with Justin Vernon for me!

The dude building my custom bass has gone radio silent again :(
I last heard from him just before Christmas and that was after about a month or so of good contact after the last time he went awol and I caught him out on not replying to my messages by emailing him from another address...
That time he did offer to give me a refund and call it quits but I said no... I'm not sure what to do now... It's been a year since I ordered it and I wouldn't mind the delay so much if he was keeping me updated on some sort of steady progress even if it was slow...
I'm pretty sure at the moment there's only a cut neck blank and a cut body completed... No routing or neck carve completed as far as I know so there's not a lot done?
I could have just bought a P-Bass a long time ago...

Isn't it time to just cut your losses, get something else and play it? At this point, no matter when it finally arrives, you're going to harbour some resentment /annoyance / frustration towards it. I'd just get a refund and move on.

I don't think I'd resent it whenever it eventually would arrive and I'm not wanting for instruments to play at the moment...
I did pop off an email to another builder this afternoon though in anticipation of a possible refund :)

You are by far a better and more patient person than me. I would have given up a long time ago. And if it arrived, unfortunately I'd be far too critical and picky. Hope you get your refund and it all sorted quickly.
pls. joe was buying unnecessary amounts of kit he probably can't afford before neil was out of nappies.
