Nice. Always makes me laugh to see how much rubber you can fit in them. How are the Goodyears?

that a domane? how you like?

This sounds perfect. If you have more than two hands.
(This in reply to how fun exploro ownership seems.)
I have a xt rear hub and to get the axle out I have to put a big hex key in and hit it with a rubber mallet because it's stuck otherwise.
This might be caused by me putting something together wrong or the axle supplied with the stooge frameset being shit. Or maybe the fact that shimano does trough axle hubs with loose bearings.
But I am glad my boutique taiwan long distance groad randonneur frame has normal old school quick release. -

On the drive side?
Still, best answer yet.

Found this while searching for ways to bodge an MTB derailleur to replace my dying Apex 1. Use 11 speed GX or over in road shifters. May report back if I commit.

You know there's another way by replacing the rachet in the lever? Then you don't need two mechs, and can have 12 speed.

What's the best 1x option for gravel bikes right now?
- GRX is limited to 11 speed
- Is Campag Ekar even available to buy anywhere?
- SRAM ???
- GRX is limited to 11 speed

• #16360
Probs depends on budget, so state that
-
• #16361
cant believe ekar is actually real lol, looks like belt drive/ ebike crankset ahaha
-
• #16362
Di2 GRX has been flawless for me.
-
• #16363
The issue with grx is that the chainring is 40t minimum on 1by.
I'd run it with an ingrd crank probebrly. Or go sram wireless and get more range thay way

I’ve done it with rival 1 shifters and GX derailleur to shift a Sunrace 11-46 and I’m super happy with it! Although the donor mech was a knackered force 1 which is easier than Apex 1 because the cable fin is held on with a cir-clip rather than riveted on.

That is super dumb. I th0ught they had a clue about bike design?
-
• #16366
Yeah, I like the Tripster arse end where it has little hoods that the wheel stops at so you can drop it and shove the axle in easily. The fucking Sequoia has none of these 'hub stoppers' so it's just floating around and you basically have to look through the end of the dropout to see if you've got the thru axle anywhere near the bloody hole. Such a simple addition makes wheel removals a fucking doddle.

What's the best 1x
2x.

It was surprisingly fast and capable off road. Easy MTM trails were no problem.
Exactly the sort of ride I fancied .

Seem good so far. Went up tubeless really easy with a track pump. Bontrager wheels with rim strips are generally a good set up process though.

2x is not beginner friendly enough. There's too much cognitive burden in managing cross-chaining and 4 different levers in addition to the actual riding

Re: 3t
HANG LOOSE HANGER: Mounting a rear wheel with disc brake can be a pain, we make it easy. Forget the derailleur, focus on the disc, put the wheel in, slide thru the axle and hang the derailleur back with the wheel already securely in place.

Ok not quite flawless. Haha.
I found the chainline shit on the GRX crank with my frame that I went back to my ultegra one. Which I've 36 through to 46 already. -
• #16373
hahahaha that should definitely be in the "what's the point of fixed / singlespeed?" thread.

Trek Checkpoint? I enjoyed how road-like it feel off road which is an odd feeling.
Bontrager wheels with rim strips are generally a good set up process though.
That they are, the full carbon one was easy with a couple layers of Stan tape.
Enjoyed the carbon one a lots, waiting for the Teravail Rampant 38mm to come for it

Wheel MFGS have a hanger with a "stopper" (if I understand you correctly);
Just put it back loosely in the dropouts.
