Are there any positives about the Exploro?
-

If I get the opportunity to ride a working one, I’ll let you know

Apparently with 47c tyres, 2 bottles and caked in mud it’s as aero as a round tubed bike with 28c tyres and no bottles. So there is that. I guess.

And here I was thinking an axle discussion would provide no meaningful catharsis for anyone.

The Exploro sounds like the Cyberpunk 2077 of bikes.
-
• #16332
that is generous. people were excited about cyberpunk 2077.

• #16333
hehe, i just un-flick cam, wheel come out :)

Thru axle and flat mount were a mistake.

I did an exploro a few months back. It didn't feel light, practical or comfy buy it feel fast and stiff. If there was actual flat, long gravel roads that'd do fine. Or for riding on roads. For UK off-road I don't see the point.

hope finishing kit upgrade packages
Wait why this?
On the bags: i hate keeping anything in my jersey, i like sandwiches as long ride snacks
I'd add - bottle mounted under the downtube - it's now filthy and you shouldn't put your mouth on it

the one that gets my goat is on the cursed Exploro because the rear one threads directly into the mech hanger which isn’t otherwise connected to the stays at all. So when you take it out to remove the rear wheel, the whole derailleur drops away which is supposed to be a good thing?!
Similar with Specialized, the hanger only have one bolt to attach it to the drop out, as well as having a slot for the wheel to sit, and the thread is in the frames, meaning it will move when you remove it, cue people thinking they fucked their bike up being unable to push the axle in.
Fortunately the wheel manufacturing version is better, but still.

I remove it ... then look around for somewhere clean enough to place it.
Like your frames bag?

• #16339
Or the stem bag.

Fortunately the wheel manufacturing version is better, but still.
Do they actually fit? Unlike their T47 BBs?
-
• #16347
The wheel manufacturing hangers? They work, they’re the go-to hanger of choices when one need replacing.

I eagerly await the second coming of QR
Quill stems are back, so anything is possible.

• #16349
I’m at least a page behind and this has probably been covered but that sounds fucking shit. Why would that ever be a positive feature?

My bags mostly have jelly beans or clothing. Keep you greasy threads away pls.
I try not to.
I remove it ... then look around for somewhere clean enough to place it.
