So many great thrillers made around that time, on the conspiracy tip I'd throw the Parallax View into the hat.

Always ducked because of Warren Beatty, but the storyline is great, probably more so for the lack of technology.
Question: could you really walk on to a jet in 70s America and pay cash for your ticket onboard? -
