  • The 147 GTA has been on my list since it’s launch. Just don’t have the Johnny Big Potatoes for the servicing and its potential catastrophic failure.

  • shades of Peugeot 406 about it; especially in that silver.

    my thoughts exactly

  • Right, but that’s why I said imo…. As in, that’s my opinion.

Also, you don’t need to have it plugged in all the time to be full. The Zoe just gets charged to 100% and then unplugged and left outside.

  • Yup, I know what you mean.

This is a very clean and I assume unmodded (certainly on the outside).

  • Poor Boys sealant in the kitchen. Have never done this sort of thing before, therapeutic and smells great, although family disagree.

  • More of an issue if you can't have a charging point fitted or one nearby. Or using public charging points.

But free parking. Well no parking charges if you need parking permits.

  • Whats the most fun, ulez compliant/exempt car you can get for under 3 grand? Battered 1980 mini?

  • What's tldr ULEZ exempt criteria for those of us outside UK?

  • 👌

I guess it depends on what you want. A mate's dad has two CBRs, one track with farkles and one for the road.

He also has some sort of limited edition Aprilia RSV Mille, but ended up getting the road CBR to thrash as I think he was hoping for the Mille to be a bit of an investment. The investment side is a bit of a flop as for some reason they haven't increased.

  • After 2005 or 20yo historically exempt.

(there is more to it, but that's tl;Dr)

  • Mini is not exempt... why I am having to sell mine. Heart breaking really but bigger picture and all

  • Got a flat.

Tried to change it and it was stuck fucking solid. Ended up admitting defeat and called roadside assistance. They said 90mins which with 2 young kids wasn't appealing.

    Managed to get it off by finding a YT which said;

    • handbrake off
    • put in two bolts loose
    • hit with rubber mallet from the back

Didn't have a rubber mallet so wrapped some bungees around the wrench and went at it.

    Very satisfying.

Arguments with my OH about replacing tyres less so. Cba this time round and will just let them do what they want.

  • What year?

    1980 = 41yo > 40yo

    Edited :(

  • I'd agree a mini is probably the best shout in that budget.

IDK if you could get a functioning mg for that money

  • Face-lift R53 Cooper S might fit the bill?

Otherwise MX-5 NA? Presume Renault 5 Turbo and Mk1/Mk2 Gtis are no longer available to be had for around £3k?

Also 20yo? That would only be 2001?

  • For Ulez compliance. Isn’t it petrol car with a euro 4 engine and diesel with an euro 6 engine ?

  • Has to be “historic” which is currently pre-1980.

Or post 2005 for petrol or 2015 for diesel, though a few slightly earlier cars meet the spec.

  • Ha!

Not sure what happened with my brain there.

    Is the R53 ulez?

  • Oops... that was meant to be in reply to @Turkish

  • Bonus is with quads that apparently require no helmet for you or your mates, nor need to be registered to drive on roads.

  • Good point.

  • You're wrong about being registered for the road. They definitely do and insured, taxed and MOT.
