You've heard of a a VW VR6 or an R32 right? That would be a narrow angle V with an even number of cylinders that's not a Lancia.
Also isn't it done as a cost out, there's only one cylinder head and one set of cams for a start

@Soul whats the real world charging situation away from home in the UK? Do you use Tesla chargers at all?

Very cool, but being a massive ponce I’ve fallen into the position of wanting my “sensible” car to have modern systems, surface finishing etc. And a minimum of 550 bhp of course.

The greatest thing about an electric car imo is that it’s always full when you leave home.
The M3 i have has about 250 miles motorway range in winter and 310 miles in summer.
I haven’t had to use any chargers but the one at home for either electric car.
Saying that, the only reason we’re now fully electric is that Tesla has the charger network to get me down to my parents place in France. The Mach-E looks like a solid electric car but it would add at least 3 hours (30%) to the journey to France.
If you only need to go 125 miles from home (and back), that Mach-E looks like a solid, if slightly expensive, choice. Any further and I’d still go Tesla.

No.
Even for someone with your level of disposable income, the insurance will be eye watering (assuming you can even get some).
They’re also big, heavy and tall which isn’t great in combo with inexperience. It’s a bit of a cliche but you learn shit loads after passing your test and you probably want that learning to be done on a bike that’s cheap and easy to manoeuvre. I have never dropped my bikes but I’ve been close and a GS would have definitely gone over! -

Cheapest one I could find with a cursory search is £90,000. That’s quite a step up from a £28,000 E63. I think I might need a few stepping stones to get there, which is a problem in of itself- let’s say I chop the s212 in for an s213 this summer and jump up to ~£55,000, what’s the interstitial step at ~£75,000?

Oh there’s no doubt about that!
Shame they’re all LHD. -

Not buying anything and putting the money in a pot? They’ll get cheaper while you step your way up too!

VW allegedly bought (some say copied) lancia V knowledge and tech from Fiat.
Cost wise, less materials and machine work in the head compared to two? But then the the blocks and pistons. Believed that it was down to a smaller engine size, smoother engine especially the 4. Interesting to think about discuss.

For you, for others it may vary.

Always thought there would be more than one as the floor pans/suspension are the same.

Also another shout for 456...

But the longer I keep a car the lower it’s value when I sell or trade it.
-
• #62248
I dunno. The back has shades of Peugeot 406 about it; especially in that silver.

Been meaning to grab a photo of this for over 2 years but I only ever see it when I’m driving and don’t have time to stop.
Today it was finally out when I rode past.

Having the electric car plugged in all the time ready to go.
I would totally buy a car from him though, professional or not he is thorough.
