I don't even have to defend that one. SD1s are absolutely fantastic to drive.
(And even that 40 year old Lucas switchgear that doesn't always work feels better quality than the 986-era Porsche stuff by far. Porsche really dropped a bollock there.)
The Boxster, just too efficient and German. They had made it too capable and competent to be fun. I expect it would be a good track car, and Porsche have a 1 make race series for the 986 which might be good fun, but as a road car, well: don't buy a 3.2 and don't have the sports suspension. Then it might be fun on the road.
I did. I wouldn’t recommend. For all its reputation I found it dull as ditchwater to drive, unreliable and very cheaply made.
