So sorry, bearing surface has quite a pitted area 8mm minimum. Basically scrap steel now.

Oh that's a shame, always seems to be the same with these axles, I've got plenty and they look superb, until you look closely at the all important bearing surfaces.

As the TA cups are scarce, I’d rather use another taper with TA, might need to do that soon - can never remember whether shimano or campag is nearer. Feel like saying shimano.
