  • What size are you after? May have a spare here

  • 27.2 with 25 setback

  • Sorry, only 27.2 I have is straight

  • Paging @mattyc

  • I have this one from J&L, quite sure they also have one with setback. Used it for two years now, no complaints. A bit annoying to setup, but thats only once.

  • 👋🏻 Seatpost?

@alex_s I’ve got the J&L one as mentioned above and it’s been great, once setup - it is sat in a draw ‘spare’ at the moment but from experience if I part with it I’ll suddenly find a need for one in a month... so, unless anyone has a -17 ti stem they want to trade (because I sold mine 🤦‍♂️) I’ll keep hold of it for now 👍🏻
I’ve had a few ti posts in the past, Use, Lynskey, PMP, Moots, J&L - the traditional style PMP is awesome, picked one up on here for £50, the J&L is what I’d buy if I ran out of patience looking for a second hand one - Lynskey and Use were fine but not as good as the PMP and not worth more than the J&L (J&L stems are great too)
    👍🏻👍🏻

  • That’s certainly a confident, bold build

  • Sneak peak of this just back from media blasting.

  • Who makes these again? Looks like it says fallen but I don't think that's right .

Any more info on the tubing profiles? Why so beefy? Is it gonna be an actual track bike? Any butting? Is that 3d printed chainstay there to allow bigger chainrings?

  • Fallen is right, it's my bosses foray into bikes, he's been building frames in Manchester for a few years but branching out into custom designed stuff built in Ti in China. This is for a guy we know who's been doing some bike pick ups and deliveries for repairs for us since lockdown started, wants a crit bike. I've not been involved too much in design stuff as I only work one day a week there now but knowing the guy it'll be so it's stiff AF and he can get all "shit fixie skidderz say" about it, it'll be covered in daft anodised bits and have brklss installed once he gets hold of it, hopefully look amazing. I've not got the details on butting of tubes but can choose what you want as far as profiles and bending goes, the yoke isn't 3D printed, just a chunk of Ti that I'm sure he had his reasons for, track cranks and tyre clearance with short stays would be my guess.

  • Cool. Thanks.
Didn't realise they were in China. Lots of good value Ti stuff to be had from Waltly and so on. Impressive to see the anodizing. Is that done in Manchester or where the frame is built?

  • They're not in China, they/we're in Manchester, we outsource the building to the same place many other people do but everything is designed for each customer. Geometry, tube choice, shaping, 500 bottle boss locations for gravel and everything else is drawn up by my boss, he then does all the anodising/painting when it arrives, then we build it all up into a pretty bicycle we're branding as fallen.

  • No, no, I realise. I just meant I thought they were built here. So, more similar to Bearclaw, Carver and others.

Anodizing is pretty wild. Not my cuppa tea but I'm boring 😌

  • Yeah, we've not got TIG equipment or skills to build here in Ti, and aren't charging built here money. More subtle anodising is possible too I think, but you really have to insist on it.

  • but you really have to insist on it.

Ha! Well, outside of ride quality, which can't be perceived across the internet, I guess it's one of the only ways to make a Ti bike stand out.

  • I think it looks filthy good. Where you based in Manchester?

  • Used to be tucked under Rapha but have now retreated back to our workshop in Ardwick, it's very much a workshop rather than a shop though.

  • New frame -singular kite

  • I’m on the hunt for a Ti seatpost - 31.6 with 25mm layback.

If anyone has something suitable please shout, but if not, where should I be looking?

    Thanks

  • It might be a special order only item, but the only one in that dia that I can think of is the PMP. 14mm setback though.

I can't think of any other Ti posts in 31.6

  • There's a secondhand 360mm Lynskey on ebay US.

  • I got one with 15mm from Torus, they might do 25 special order.

  • Not sure if layback but Van Nicholas do/did a ti post in 31.6
