  • Am in awe of how sweaty it's everyone.

  • Headband was a total revelation too, don't why I never thought of it before. These are grand and pretty cheap if anyone is looking https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/tb-100-tennis-headband/_/R-p-2432.

  • I thought I'd bought some cheap Nike ones but when they turned up they were actually headbands like what footballers in the 90s wore.

  • I've found biggest sweat issue is through my hands and conscience it's not doing my bars/pads any good. Obviously, I'm wiping down every ride and I do wear a really light pair of gloves but still find it's the sweatiest contact with the bike. Anyone find this and have any tips?

  • Same, I make sure to wipe and baby wipe after ride and use a towel between hands and bars when not doing an interval as otherwise it blocks the air coming from the VacMaster

  • Try and be fully hydrated before you start, keep hydrating during your exercise, continue rehydrating after your exercise, remember you can’t absorb more than about 2 pints of fluid an hour.

  • You're not moving. Sitting on a bike for 23 minutes and getting pissed doesn't count as training you know

  • 1x23... good session imo

  • very important this

hand towel over the whole COCKPIT - See Sumo's post previous page.

  • And I got influenced to put each one on smart plugs.

Any way to remotely adjust fan speed?

  • No, just have both set on the middle fan setting. The one at the front goes on 3-5 minutes into a session, the second one gets turned on when I start getting warmer.

  • or ... finally find the fucking headband, skip the warmup, pile in, realise the rear tyre is probably at a pressure so low you’re at %50 ftp just to spin, get hot, sweat, swear, jump off and turn the fan on FULLGAZZ

    Except beer?

  • That's the unused trainer output screen. The juicy info is on other pages (cans per hour, etc)

  • I can definitely "absorb" more than 2 pints per hour.

  • I got a pack of 10 heavy duty cotton tea towels from Nisbets for £10 or so for on bike sweat management porpoises and wiping off the bike after. Some headbands sound like a good idea.

  • New turbo definitely much much harder (old one clearly overestimated my ability which is why people use them for gaming other people on zwift). I have used muscles that have clearly been dormant for a long long time. 90 minutes and I hurt- general achey warmth all over my legs. In time this will be a good thing. Also an erg mode where I don’t have to change gear to get appropriate resistance is a revelation.

  • Halo headbands. Geeky and expensive, but effective at stopping sweat on the face/in the eyes. I only wear it on turbo.

    Edit: found a worse/better picture

  • p.gross when you do a session in a room with the window closed and you get off at the end and all your evaporated sweat is dripping down the pane

  • Lies unless you make this your avatar.

  • Are you riding the drops through the towel? IYKWIM

  • I have it just behind the hoods to start with then as my hands get a bit slipper I shuffle it up so my palms are on the towel but not the whole grip if that makes sense. Not the most comfortable but stops my hands sliding on the hoods and hopefully avoids the bars dissolving underneath the tape

  • I hardly sweat during turbo and just get really hot :(

  • Yep, but what about when riding down in the drops?

I have a mini towel covering my tops, hoods and stem but find my drops get wet with sweat. Wondering if a big towel could cover the lot or if wristbands would prevent the hand sweat.

Do hands sweat or is sweat dripping down arms?
