Try and be fully hydrated before you start, keep hydrating during your exercise, continue rehydrating after your exercise, remember you can’t absorb more than about 2 pints of fluid an hour. Try to leave 4 hours after exercise before you go to bed. Hydrating with something isotonic is better than water. I’m certainly feeling greater effects with age!
Not sure if this is right place to ask but on the subject of sweat does anyone have any pro tips for rehydrating and settling down after a session? Because of morning/daytime commitments i do all my turbo time from 6.30pm onwards and i find that i can neither rehydrate properly or switch off for sleep. I drink a lot of water and/or squash mixed with salt after but it doesn't cut it and i end up pissing most of it back out. Should i just get a big tub of electrolytes?
I used to do high intensity workouts in the evening where it was common for me to loose a 2-3kg in sweat and never struggled like i do now. Maybe it's age?
