Did you have the adaptor brackets fitted? TRP RRL's come with a plastic adaptors/wedges that make for a better angle with modern flattop bars...

Brake levers- I installed the nicer TRP ones ( RRL) but found them to be a different design to their basic model; shorter, with a steeper curve which puts too much pressure on my hands.
They are on a pair of Deda RHMs .
So I'd like something a bit nicer than the basic TRPs, though they do seem to have more of an STI type shape, which is what the RHM bars seem to be designed for.
So, should I have listened to Tester @gbj_tester and got the Srams? Probably yes.
Are the Srams nearer to a Campag shifter in shape than a Shimano?
