  • Thus compressionless and Shimano mini v mean pads doesn’t need to be that close to rims.

    (Avoid Shimano aero levers tho).

  • so the combination Shimano mini-V (do you know the refernce? is it one of the references mentioned by tester above) with Sram S500 worked well for you? no pad close to rim problem and the breaking is better than canti?
I am currenlty wondering what brake use on a next build, would like to keep SS levers so probably mini-V but wondered if it was really better than canti (I only ever used dual pivot caliper so genuine question)

  • Although I've not used it directly I have heard that a good combo if it will fit over your tyre is Sram S500 levers with TRP CX 8.4 mini V brakes.

I use those levers with TRP CX9 and the pads are a bit close to the rim, but have really good power. The CX 8.4 has a shorter arm which means the pads can have a bit more clearance, and should still have plenty of stopping power.

  • Any, I got the cheapest one which is the 353, I have spare Yokozuna Reaction compressionless housing which eliminates any flex in the housing, but can’t see why not a normal compression less housing won’t work.
