re. silver, some guy in the FT says banks are hedged.
A very significant amount of silver is off exchange too, which stacks odds greatly against retail making a lasting dent.

Largest deleveraging since 2009 just happened but exposure is still at near record levels

thoughts on whats going to happen in todays $GME rollercoaster?
Whilst the price remains high (in the 100's) isn't it costing hedge funds millions in interest? But at the same time they're reluctant to settle?

For all those that have had to close their shorts, seems like theres another (fund) to take its place (and short the stock).
I guess, when it was first was shorted at $20 there was some profit to be made, but now that its over $300, theres so much more to be made by the shorters.

Can't buy AMC or GME through Freetrade app right now, but they're working on it.

Same on IG!!!
GAH!
This is annoying.

Indeed. I've put some play money in and was hoping to bounce it around a bit but no chance at the moment.
At worst I'm down £9.99 for the one month of PLUS upgrade I needed in order to be able to trade GME.

They refunded my Jan payment because of it. Worth asking if they didn’t proactively do yours.
Revolut has the meme stox, a quicker tracker, and I like the layout more. Takes a few minutes to set up. Also your trade money is held in USD so no faffing around with the exchange on the fly. This is not advice.

eToro works

Also using Revolut but the inability to do limit orders in annoying
-
• #2313
Yeh, reddit is basically full of people saying they can't buy today or they are on etoro and getting there positions auto sold, so no one the volume is so low and so little price action today
-
• #2314
Just bought a bit more GME through freetrade. It was locked for the huge dip, annoying

eddit is basically full of people saying they can't buy today
I wouldnt be surprised that this is the reason the price is artificially crashing.

I signed up to degiro last thursday - bought 1 share@ $260 today.
Don't care if I never see the money again -
• #2317
Indeed, the money I threw in was from some shares I was given years ago. If I hit my limit order I'll have made 25% in about an hour and I may be done, just to say I was there...

I bought some with Hargreaves Lansdowne last Thursday no trouble

• #2319
It lost a hundy today. Did all retail buyers sell up then or what?
-
• #2320
The volume was just really low and the funds were able to do short attacks to bring down the price. It’s sort of amazing that people are holding - otherwise you’d see a lot more panic selling.
The limits some brokers are putting on it are stalling the sp for now.
Something about diamond hands.

• #2321
Yeh the volume is key and at the moment they have it pinned down
-
• #2322
Also, with brokers preventing retail investors buying, it's allowing some short positions to be closed.
-
• #2323
They were crying about manipulation, how is closing retail markets allowed?
-
• #2324
Do as I say, not as I do....

bullionbypost is pretty empty of silver, if you were looking to jump on that bandwagon
Two week wait for new Degiro account (apparently selling GME)
