CyclingTips did a pretty in-depth review recently and weren't particularly impressed.

Agree with the PD-ES600 hanging the wrong way up. If you want single-sided, get the PD-A520 instead, or PD-A600 if you can find them. I have all three, but actually use double sided XT most of the time now.

Obviously get DMR versa.

These coz they're cool

double sided XT
This is the way, the truth and the light.
8020 or 8120 if you want the platform comfort and convenience of a touring pedal with the "smash your foot on it at any angle" easy entry of an XC pedal

Counters like these, or mileometers in car dashboards etc
Is there a specific term for the wheel with 0-9 on it's edge?

Try mechanical rotary counter +wheel

There's the SRAM cassettes too (PG-1170 is 11-36?).

Can't find anyone selling just the wheels. I want to buy/make 100.

My boss has got the arse because I wouldn't lie to get a free NHS Covid test and even specified it needed to be a PCR test. Two workshop fitters tested positive last week but I'm out driving all day so not really in contact with anyone. Anyway I WhatsApped my boss to say as I didn't have symptoms I couldn't get a test. He said others staff had said they had been asked to get a test, implying Test and Trace but not saying their employer had "asked" them. I said employers could not ask employees to get an NHS test and sent a GOV screenshot confirming it. He then accidentally sent me a msg, not intended for me saying I was being a prick and not wanting a test and that he'd get rid of me. My reply was that if I had a symptom I'd get a test but I don't.
He's now told me to isolate for 10 days and await a call from HR.
Even though the test is free I would be committing fraud by requesting one knowing that I don't fit the criteria for it.
I've taken screenshots of WhatsApp in case he deletes his comments.
Which of us is being the prick? -

As road (not MTB) cassettes, I don't think they fit on 10 speed freehubs.

Obviously him!

That's the way I see it too. I'll wait and see where this goes.

I'd eagerly wait for that call from HR too!

Me too. I'm hoping it's a wage rise!

In Hammersmith & Fulham they've been encouraging everyone to get a test (lateral flow). It's free, easy to organise and the results come in 20 minutes or so. Is that not the kind of thing that's going on everywhere now?
I had one for no reason at all.

Does he know he sent you that message?

This is what they look like after a month or two

Yes, he explained it as "don't text and drink" but it was clear he meant to send it to someone else.

I want to protect a nice new steel frame. Should I get a roll of helicopter tape or is a kit the better option?

I think HR will have bigger troubles with him than you, I’d love to be a fly on the wall for that conversation

Ask HR to confirm in writing they want you to commit fraud.
I have a pair , not completely convinced by them .
It took a while for the bearings to loosen so they rotate freely when you are unclipped, now they are they rotate to the clip down position so I have to rotate my unclipped pedal to the bottom then give it a bit of a tap by knocking the other foot against the freewheel ( if that makes sense).
The clip is then vertical near the top of the first revolution and you can rotate it and clip in.
First time I rode with them I had a clipping in success rate of less than 50% I’m up to over 90% now.
They scratch/ mark really badly when you miss.
They are light and comfortable.
