Because there are no S# postcodes
in london! the s stand for sheffield

Because there are no S# postcodes. You have to be SW or SE. Even Parliament Square is SW.
And the postcode boundary between SW1 and SE1/SE11 is the Thames, before SW goes south of the river in SW8.
