  • Ooooooh

    More photos!

  • @MCamb cheers!
@ectoplasmosis not as fancy as yours but it’s good fun with 10 speed XTR. Gotta love those double up-shifts :)

P.s. just found this photo of a pair of polished slx cranks... mmh.

  • I know it's a bit pedantic, but that is technically more like a brushed finish than a polished one.
    Still looks real nice though.

  • Well, you're right. As a matter of fact, I can't stand the mirror polished look.

  • Caad 7 almost ready to roll - parts bin build.

    To do:
Specialized Power saddle to be added
Post & stem to be changed
    Fit chain
Low stack headset cover & steerer chop (maybe)

    Later:
    New cable set (eventually)
    50mm-ish carbon rims

  • This is starting to look more like a bike.
I’ve got some old mafac cantis to go on, which I just need to source some pads for and a few other little bits like step down ferrules and then should be done.

  • Would anyone help me out on this Roberts ? Does this look like a legit 753r frame, also is it too far gone? Size is spot on yet the rust part might be especially dangerous on a 753 frame? Unfortunately cannot see it in person.

  • I think I'd pass, partly on condition but mostly because 753 and farm gate is not a good mix. I'd be the first to say that most modern frames are far stiffer than they need to be, but it's equally the case that 753 can be insufficiently stiff to make a nice ride.

  • Thank you, never thought about it this way... It's "just" a 60/57 cm which is what i ride and the asking price is 400 eur...plus of course a reapray if the frame is sound...

  • Gaston, I'm interested in the ergonomic of the saddle angle. Doesn't it make the pressure on the arms uncomfy? With tt bars that pressure can be dealt with I guess, but with regular drops I'm curious how that feels on longer rides. Asking for a friend (that friend is my bum, obv.).

  • With the greatest respect to Gaston, I don't think anybody should be taking bike fit advice from him.

  • Not uncomfy but a bit more tiring,,, but nothing insurmountable if you change your possition regularly. I have my hands down more easily with this setting.

  • Old projet but fun : )

  • I’ve always liked the look of some of the custom painted shoes you see, so I decided to paint a pair myself. One shoe down and I’m happy so far. Question now is whether I replicate the same thing on the other shoe or go with something slightly different.

  • That's wild! Good job, I would definitely say go ahead and replicate on the other side. What are you using for a clearcoat to fix the paint?

  • Thanks! I’m using Angelus acrylic finisher to clear coat it.

I let the kids paint an old pair of shoes a month ago with the same paint and finisher and it seems to hold up ok.

  • Nice! I'd say maybe replicate on the other shoe for the most part but maybe some subtle differences? If they're too different it might be a bit much.

  • I managed to knacker the pedal threads on the 105 cranks that were on my Mr Pink. I'm planning to sort them out at some point but for the time being I've chucked on some DA cranks that were going to go on once the weather was better. Now I just need to find the time and motivation to actually ride the thing.

Ha, perhaps...see my daughters’ efforts on the test run!

  • Great bike, do you have the 3rd flap installed?
